Growing up!

Monopoly Money – I am sure that I am the only mom who gets annoyed with this, but I am going to say it anyway. LOL.

Your walking through the store with your list of item’s that you NEED, and it starts… Mom, mom, mom, mom, look at this mom, mom, mom, do I need to go on? I think not. So what I did before I went to Walmart (which my husband so tenderly calls Wally World) is give my boys a chance to earn monopoly money. They do things like take out the trash, weed, or their favorite job… poop control on the deck.

They are armed with a guideline of what THEY can AFFORD at the store. This has completely stopped all the urgency for me to see what ever they have there eye on. They only show me what they picked. They might look at other things, but they don’t talk to me about it because they have their guidelines of what they can afford.

What a weird concept in America today, only buying what you can afford today. They have gotten to be savvy little shoppers, sometimes my son says to me “Mom this is a rip off, let’s go to the dollar store, it is way cheaper there.” It is times like this that a Frugy wants to shed a tear.
