Money saving tips for a fabulous Memorial Day Party!

Parties can cost you a fortune so you need to keep your Fun Budget in mind when you are feeling like partying.

1. Use the people that are coming as resources. Ask Aunt Missy to bring her famous carrot cake and ask Grandma to bring her delicious potato salad. Relatives love to bring dishes that are family favorites. Everyone wins.

2. Go to a local parade, the kid’s love it and it will be very social for you.

3. Pool all your family together and make a game plan to get all your work done for the weekend on Friday night or Sat morning and then you have the rest of the weekend to play. Yeah!

4. Instead of spending a bunch on cans of pop, make a few pitchers of ice tea.

5. Stop by the dollar store and pick up some outdoor candles, flags, streamers, and balloons. Anything that is red, white and blue can make you party festive.

6. Look for coupons in your local newspaper for Memorial Day sales BEFORE you plan your menu. Buy your condiments and chips at your local bulk grocery store.

Have a great long weekend, and remember the soldiers that have fought for you.
