Just like a diet you can make any excuse to go off your plan. Whether it is Mother’s Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Grounds Hog Day… Well to be truly successful you have to stick to it.
My husband invited my whole family over for Mother’s Day breakfast (his famous French toast and sausage) While we were sitting there we talked about what we wanted to do after church. First we were all going to go to my Mom’s church because she was being honored. We talked about going to the zoo ($16.50 per adult and $11.00 per child) We talked about going to Seattle and riding bikes (renting of bikes, gas for 2 cars, and lunch and dinner out at restaurants). Then we decided that everyone was going to go home and take a nap, and Rod and I would go and shop for a fantastic BBQ and Ice Cream Sundae Social. We all meet back at our house at 3:00 for wonderful conversation, and even got to talk to a close relative on Skype. She was able to see my sister’s new puppies and my new patio. Isn’t technology amazing.
This is what we would have spent if we would have gone out.
Hamburger $6.50
Fries $2.50
Watermelon $2.00
Corn on the cob $3.00
Potato chips $1.50
Ice Cream sundaes $5.50
Total (not including tax and tip) $21.00 per person.
We spent $5.00 per person.
So there you have it, it might have been less expensive but it was definitely more fun. Besides we got to keep all the leftovers.
Hamburgers anyone? Come on over.
